Under general supervision, the administrative assistant performs a variety of activities in support of normal office functions or for the PEO Aviation Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) Program Office.

This position will support the PEO Aviation FLRAA office in Huntsville, AL. FLRAA is a Future Vertical Lift (FVL) program and the Army's third modernization priority. PM FLRAA is tasked with developing, testing, procuring, fielding, and maintaining the FLRAA Weapon System.

This position is contingent on a contract award expected on or about February 1, 2022.

Duties and Responsibilities  

Monitor visitor access. Maintain and organize Executive's calendar to ensure that she/he is prepared for any meetings. Schedule appointments. Maintain front desk procedures including contact information, directions and frequently requested information. Process queries and direct to appropriate office.  Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system. Retrieve documents from filing system.  Process requests for information and data.  Resolve administrative problems and inquiries.  Prepare written correspondence in accordance with the AR 25-50.  Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails.  Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments.  Prepare travel arrangements in the Defense Travel System DTS, making travel, lodging, and rental car bookings  Maintain timekeeping in ATAAPS.  Prepare travel book with agenda.  Prepare agendas for meetings and prepare schedules.  Record, compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings.  Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence. Maintain office supply inventories.  Coordinate maintenance of office equipment.  Receive, sort and distribute mail.  Problem assessment and problem solving.  Information gathering and information monitoring. May be assigned leadership responsibility over less experienced Administrative Assistants and Clerks.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

HS: 8+ years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of Army administrative databases including DTS and ATAAPS

Knowledge of Army written correspondence regulation AR 25-50

Effective customer and organizational level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, Sharepoint, and PowerPoint.
