Position Summary

Alion Science and Technology is seeking an Aviation Software Integration Project Manager (PJM)  The PJM will interface with the government contracting officer representative (COR) and the government’s aviation maintenance office management team.  The PJM is responsible for numerous aspects of the contract to include program execution, meeting or exceeding delivery objectives and milestones, and outstanding cost performance.


  • Develops and executes project schedules, formulates and enforces work standards , reviews work discrepancies
  • Provides management oversight of all program personnel ensuring the highest quality of task completion and deliverables in accordance with the contract.
  • Supervises personnel, communicating policies, procedures, and goals to team members.
  • Acts as primary customer contact for program activities. Regularly meets with and updates the customer on project status. Leads program review sessions with customer to discuss cost schedule, and technical performance.
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to program plan and schedule, identifies program risks and provides mitigation strategies.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customer and key stakeholders.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Aviation Management, Computer Science or related field.
  • 15 years of aviation operations and planning experience.
  • 5 years in program management roles.
  • Experience with organization System requirements reviews (SRR), Preliminary design reviews (PDR), Critical design reviews (CDR), Test readiness reviews (TRRs), and Technical interchanges meetings (TIMs)
  • Prior experience managing multiple rotary wing avionics and special mission sensors integrations is desired
  • Must have active Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility. Active Top Secret clearance is preferred
  • Superb communication skills and strong public speaking skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
  • Ability to travel to customer locations as needed
