Job Description

Position Summary
The AAI Program Budget Analyst will support the Program Management Office (PMO) and Project Managers (PMs) with controlling costs on programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform on-going financial support to assigned projects within the Program Management Office (PMO), including assisting in the forecast of costs and the analysis of variances
  • Perform monthly project reviews including review of actual costs for proper charging and accuracy; initiate journal entries; review invoices; and support processing of invoice approvals
  • Ensure that all assigned projects are reviewed on monthly basis and summarization of financial condition of project is communicated to project managers
  • Provide effective guidance to program managers regarding potential changes in scope thereby requiring revised budget
  • Prepare monthly progress reports including project forecasts and resource projections
  • Support preparation of documentation for de-obligation/obligation of funds
  • Review initial project authorizations and project setup for accuracy, review/solicit guidance for understanding of relevant terms and conditions applicable to the contract
  • Provide overflow support for proposals as needed

Required Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 8+ years of experience required or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, MS Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Ability to obtain proper security clearances as required after hire. 
  • Desired Experience:
  • Strong preference for candidate that has knowledge of US Government contractors, the Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Ability to effectively present to and brief senior level management
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
  • Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) certification or other related financial certifications

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
