Job Description

Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the research, design, coordination and conduct of Special Operations Joint Task Force (SOJTF) level exercise(s) that implements the capability of 1st Special Forces Command (A), Special Operations Joint Task Force headquarters staff.

Qualified candidate will be able to build exercise scenarios/frameworks based on the unit Commanders¿ training objectives, with the purpose of improving the SOJTF Headquarters¿ staff¿s readiness and capability.

Examples of  training objectives are (however not limited to these): exercise mission command, exercise and refine battle rhythm and staff processes, execute and assess the effects of integrated lethal and non-lethal Special Operations Forces (SOF) operations, plan and monitor joint and coalition SOF operations, develop and maintain a joint and inter-agency intelligence estimate that enables a comprehensive targeting cycle, counter enemy electronic warfare and cyber operations, and maintain mission command capabilities in a degraded communications environment.

Facilitate the SOJTF Headquarters meeting the training objectives; examples include but are not limited to: establish a task force, provide command and control, conduct joint force staff operations, conduct special operations activities, conduct joint intelligence operations, manage information/surveillance/reconnaissance (ISR), coordinate personnel recovery, integrate multinational and inter-agency participation, and provide operational sustainment. 

Provide services, between the hours of 7:30 AM ¿ 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, except federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings. Personnel will have routine access to Government-controlled facilities.

  • Minimum Education Requirement:  Associate Degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field.  
  • Special Skills/Qualifications Required:  Shall be versed in LINUX, Windows Operating systems, Adobe Photo Shop, and Microsoft Office.  Shall be familiar with a variety of software to include, but not limited to, 3D Max, Visitor 4, and TerraSim. Contractor shall have commercial certification at IAT Level II in accordance with DoD Directive 8570.1 Information Assurance Training, Certification and Workforce Management. 
  • Minimal Background/Experience Required:  Shall have experience with constructive and virtual computer simulations, video editing, and authoring of modeling/simulation scenarios. Ability to work with self initiative after receiving initial task guidance.  Ability to follow project schedules and meet designated completion dates.  Comfortable with working as a member of a Modeling/Simulations team able to accept guidance as well as provide sound suggestions after conducting analysis of the project. Two years¿ IT experience.
  • Additional Desired Qualifications/Experience/Characteristics: Familiar with the theory of constructive and virtual training integration to develop simulation supported training events.  Understand the basic considerations of simulation supported training exercise design.  Understand constructive simulations and their associated interfaces available to support exercises.  Understand interoperability theory between simulations, and between simulations and C4I systems.  Familiarization of Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability ¿Entity Resolution Federation (JLCCTC-ERF) architecture and message data flow. Some experience integrating the Army Battle Command System (ABCS) in the live, virtual, and constructive environments. Familiarization of Army communication and network integration.
