Responsibilities/Qualification

Cyber Defense Lead

The Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Cyber Defense Lead is responsible for leading and managing a team of cyber-defense engineers and systems administrators that are responsible for protecting 8 enterprise networks from internal and external threats.  The cyber defense team is responsible for providing engineering support, solutions development, and operations and maintenance of the cyber tools and assets used within the Navy’s Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN)

Responsibilities include:

•         Evaluation and assessment of current vulnerability management solutions and processes.  Provide direction and oversight for process improvement and implement status reporting methodology

•         Ensure HBSS implementations meet all DoD/DoN requirements and are updated with the latest software and point products

•         Oversee HBSS exceptions and policies for non-standard IT solutions.

•         Manage a team of ACAS administrators and ensure all ACAS implementations meet DoD/DoN requirements.

•         Oversee management of LogRhythm SIEM

•         Manage team responsible for performing patch/scan/patch process

•         Responsible for managing personnel responsible for VRAM compliance

•         Other cyber defense efforts as required.

•         Develop reports and slides to be given to government customers

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.

•         8 + years of experience in managing Cyber defense technologies (SMS/SCCM, proxies, HBSS, ACAS, etc.)

•         Experience with Windows Servers 2012R2/2016

•         Windows desktop operating systems (WIN10 SHB)

•         Experience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)

•         Experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstations

•         Experience with HBSS

•         Experience with Microsoft WSUS, Shavlik or SMS/SCCM a plus

•         Strong technical troubleshooting skills

•         Ability to read and digest technical information

•         Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems

•         Strong attention to detail

•         Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities

•         Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

•         Experience installing release upgrades

Must have or be able to obtain Security + and Linux+ or Microsoft certification

Must be a US Citizen, currently hold and able to maintain a Secret security clearance
