Job Description

Provide cyber operations expertise and analytical support, primarily by conducting research and development efforts and technical evaluations of various cyber technologies/capabilities. Ensure close coordination of results with both internal and external stakeholders at the DOD and National levels. Monitor, analyze, and detect Cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision. Assist with integrated, dynamic Cyber defense, coordinate and maintain security toolsets to support organizations¿ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs. Develop security assessment plans for systems, including the objectives, scope, schedule, required documentation, possible risks, and other logistical items for security assessments; develops cloud service provider testing approach from security perspective. Provides validation of security control tests for cloud service provides; coordinating access to systems and approvals for scanning activities. Conducts ad hoc testing on an as-needed basis to assist with development activities or vulnerability remediation. Reviews/tests system security controls (managerial, operational, and technical) to determine adequacy against federal requirements (e.g., NIST SP 800-53) and mission context. Documents plans of action and milestones for corrective action following assessment activities and in response to identified vulnerabilities. Drafts security policies and procedures including the system security plan, and agency specific policies in accordance with NIST requirement. Routinely conducts risk assessments to quantify impacts of vulnerabilities.

Security Clearance: Top Secret SCI – Willing to take Polygraph & comply with SAP Requirements

Education / Certifications: BS in Computer Science or a related field with ten plus (10+) years of experience or MS in Computer Science or related scientific/technical field with five (5+)years of experience, with three (3) years of direct experience; or the equivalent combination of training and experience.

Relevant Experience: Three to five (3-5) years’ experience in teaching technical material to small groups,developing technical training on basic system, network, and/or malware analysis. One to three (1-3) years' experience in correlation, trend, and/or fusion analysis.

Key Requirements: Network/Malware Analysis, Correlation Analysis, Software/Tool Development, Trend Analysis,Oracle Database Analysis, Mission Analysis, well-versed in real world OPLANS,CONPLANS, and planning. Knowledge of ATO production processes, AOC Division functions, and software/systems.

Position Specific Responsibilities:         

  • Lead/conduct technical evaluations and analytical in support of the organization's efforts to develop CNO capabilities effective against wired and wireless services, computer and telecommunications protocols traversing terrestrial wired, wireless or satellite based interconnected devices.

  • Maintain close coordination and liaison with higher headquarters and the intelligence community to ensure developed and fielded capabilities meet stakeholder operational needs.

  • Develop, maintain, and assist in presenting, when required, advocacy and information briefings to present before USAF and DOD communities.

  • Collaborate with developers and engineers to ensure the relevant findings from analytical research and evaluation are integrated into development efforts
