Job Description

Position Summary

Assist the Facility Manager with the operation and maintenance of buildings, and other facilities.  Assist with planning, budgets and scheduling facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related cost.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with general maintenance, and other facilities functions, including preparing cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for construction and requisitions.
  • In coordination with the Facility Security officer, assist in managing facility security, to include policy review, security escorting, and day to day Security activities.
  • Ensures compliance with company and government regulations related to safety, environmental issues, and/or recycling efforts.
  • Assist in the development of organizational policies and procedures relevant to the facilities department to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance programs
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance according to the Facility manager direction;  Conducts minor facility installation work include furniture assembly and setup, white board and monitor mounting, etc.
  • When directed responds to questions and problems related to facilities.
  • May supervise facilities personnel to ensure the efficient operation of facilities functions.
  • Required to travel locally to field sites for facility maintenance issues.
  • May operate manual or semi-automatic power tools in support of facility operations.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma plus 8 years of directly related experience including supervisory/management experience.  May be required to obtain additional trade license or safety certifications.. Work experience may be adjusted for highly

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated effective supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of the practices, policies, and procedures involved in facilities management.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions, practices and procedures of industrial machine tools a plus.
  • Experience working in facilities in a classified environment is a plus.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be a US citizen.
