Alion Science and Technology’s Spectrum Engineering Group currently has an opening for a full-time Senior Facility Security Officer / SCIF Custodian in Annapolis Junction, MD.


Responsible for the management and control of an Intelligence Community Program within a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), to include developing and maintaining a security program in accordance with applicable regulations, directives and policies, and implementing and enforcing site specific security policies and procedures.

Specific duties will include monitoring the intrusion and detection systems to ensure that physical security requirements are met; preparing and submitting personnel clearance paperwork, visit requests, and foreign travel briefings and forms; ensuring all personnel have proper security clearances, authorizations and need to know; enforcing approved procedures for safeguarding, transmitting, reproduction, storing and destruction of classified information, material and equipment; developing and implementing a Security Education and Awareness Program; and conducting periodic reviews to ensure compliance with the Program security policies as defined in the Program Security Manual, Directives, and Instructions.  Additional duties include review and coordination of Co-utilization Agreements with Program security officers and other government agencies; conducting indoctrinations, security briefings and training.


Must have served as an FSO, CSSO, PSO, security manager or as a physical security specialist in the DoD arena.

Must be familiar with ICD 705 and ICD 704 and have the ability to operate under minimal supervision; possess high standards of professional decorum; provide comprehensive, risk-based physical and technical security advice, guidance and general security support to Program and Alion security offices.

Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years' of relevant experience is required

US Citizenship

Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) clearance or SCI eligible.
