With more than 80 years of experience engineering science and technology solutions to support national security, Alion supports clients with big ideas and real solutions. Alion Science and Technology is seeking a Senior Financial Analysts to support our work in Springfield, VA. The candidate for this role must be familiar with both the FAR and DFAR acquisition policies. This role will be in direct support of our government customer. The candidate for this role must have experience in working with Contract Officer's Representative (COR) at NGA to create, track, and manage financial documents such as AF9s and MIPR documents. Work in this role will include both classified and unclassified processing of documents so the candidate must have a current TS/SCI clearance to support this customer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs research and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, and financial and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and income statements.
  • Perform analysis of budgets and schedules needed to meet contractual/project requirements for assigned portions of a program or programs. 
  • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management.
  • Develops and implements fiscal operating policies and procedures.
  • Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, and document format for data processing equipment.
  • Provide analysis on business development and may monitor business performance by unit, division or brand.
  • Defines and develops key performance indicators; analyzing and interpreting financial and operational performance and tracks key operational objectives and strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency and profitability of the business units.
  • Analyzes financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in making financial decisions.
  • Assembles spreadsheets and draw charts and graphs used to illustrate technical reports May also coordinate, negotiate and resolve financial compliance issues with various governmental agencies to ensure accurate interpretation of contract requirements. 
  • Researches new policies and regulations and projects the effect that the same could have on the Company and its financials.

Experience and Education:

  • 5 to 7 years with a BA/BS
  • 3 to 5 years with a MS/MA
  • 0 to 2 years with a PhD

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience
