Position Description

Alion Science and Technology’s Advanced Cyber Operations division is looking for qualified Junior Hardware Engineer candidates to work as part of a diverse team of cyber and intelligence professionals providing 24/7 intelligence operations, systems engineering and innovation, and sustainment of Information Technology systems in support of Component Commanders providing relevant products to the war fighter.  The Junior Hardware Engineer will perform as part of a small team to support the customer’s appliances in order to provide accurate, time sensitive data while innovating, coordinating, and configuring network resources to enable proficiency, cost savings, and improve reliability.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide ongoing support and troubleshoot mission critical C2 devices, radios, network devices, antennas, and servers. Open trouble tickets and coordinate with PM to replace equipment.

Be available to address after-hours outage response for mission critical C2 devices. Document daily system monitoring and health checks of systems. Establish work standards, methods, and controls for preventative, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance actions. Determine extent and economy of repair of malfunctioning equipment. Ensure compliance with technical data, instructions, and work standards. Track service contract expiration, warranty action, and licensing processes for all Enterprise network and system hardware.

  • Work on a small team of hardware engineers to provide reliable resources, improve operations, increase capabilities and achieve all program objectives
  • Ensure goals of customer satisfaction and team member performance are tracked and met
  • Ensure all hardware instantiations comply with all local and DoD policies.
  • Provide notifications to the customer as necessary of any hardware that could affect network reliability, confidentiality, or integrity


Education: High School Diploma or equivalent


      1. A+
      2. IAT LVL I or higher (desired)

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hardware support

Must hold a current TS/SCI clearance.
