Job Description



Under general supervision, responsible for performing information systems design, development, and analysis encompassing one or more of the following areas of technical expertise: programming, PC application analysis, software development, systems integration, and related disciplines.

Manages and maintains data systems, which include servers, storage, designs, applications, databases and networks.

Performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications programs in support of one or more functional areas such as materials, marketing, accounting, or human resources.

Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies and supports operating systems, database or utilities software.

Plans, conducts and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems.

Analyzes, designs, acquires and implements projects for LAN and/or WAN systems.

Plans, designs, acquires and implements telecommunications voice/wire systems.

Provides support to employees and monitors, supports and troubleshoots infrastructure issues.

Coordinates with internal and external vendors.

Specific actions: 

Act as SharePoint Site Collection Administrator for a collection of sites supporting acquisition programs and document management.  Experience in HTML and/or JavaScript is preferred.  Experience developing solutions using HTML, JQuery, and RESTful servers is highly preferred!

Support to hundreds of end-user computers running Windows 7 and/or Windows 10 operating system.  Must have solid knowledge and be able to help end-users with the Microsoft productivity suite, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.

Assist end-users (customers) in resolving IT related issues regarding computer hardware and software, network access, peripheral equipment and security safeguards.

Assist network administrators for the overall configuration management of the database technologies, including upgrades to new software product releases and the installation of service packs.

Resolve technical problems with local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other systems supporting end-user productivity.  A solid understanding of routers, switches, media converters, and other networking equipment is preferred.

Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex problems to ensure minimal disruption of mission-critical applications.

Establish network policies and procedures regarding access methods and time, and security validation checks.

Maintain network security; ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced.

Install and maintain network monitoring systems; performs intrusion detection as needed.

Manage network performance, maintains fault-tolerant systems and manages system backups.

Provide telecommunication customer support to include mobile devices and associated wireless carrier network services.

Participates in special projects as required.

Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support.

Knowledge of modems, data scopes, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and network management software.

Thorough knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities.

Works well individually or in a group setting using problem solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.

Ability to successfully present technical information.

A "Secret" security clearance required immediately upon employment.

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or I.T. relevant field with at least  2-4 years’ of relevant experience.  (In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for applicable work experience.)

Experience or knowledge is highly desireable the following technologies:  

  • Experience with Help Desk duties,
  • U.S. Navy NMCI and SIPR accounts preferred,
  • SharePoint Site Collection Administration experience is desirable,
  • Using HTML, JQuery, and RESTful servers highly desired.
