Job Description

Alion Science & Technology is looking for talented, motivated team members to develop processes, methodologies, models, and communication tools that will enable our DOD Forces to achieve Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) Superiority and EMS control across all operational domains (air, ground, maritime, space, and cyber) and operational functions.  These teams will provide Joint Force Commander (JFC) elements and Service units the authoritative technical and operational information required to achieve EMS superiority and conduct EMS operations

Required:  TS/SCI Clearance

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering, networking, computer science, cybersecurity, or a closely related STEM discipline.
  • 6 years of experience in the execution and/or planning of defensive cyberspace operations or closely related military operations
  • Ability to do independent research of friendly and adversary cyber organizations, capabilities and tactics and then write up results of that research with minimal direct supervision 
  • Familiarity with existing military cyber organizations (USCYBERCOM, 16th Air Force, Fleet Cyber/10th Fleet, Marine Forces Cyber, etc.) and ability to reach out to them for information
  • Knowledge of RF-enabled Cyber, electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) concerns, and EMS Operations or more narrowly, electromagnetic warfare
  • Experience with at least one of the tools or technologies from each of the following categories:
    • Big Data programming tools/technologies: MATLAB/Octave, Python, JavaScript, or SQL
    • Interactive Query tools/technologies: Apache Hive, or SQL Dialect on Hive
    • Visualization/presentation tools/technologies: Jupyter notebooks or Kibana dashboards  
    • Not Only (NO)SQL databases: MongoDB or MarkLogic

Preferred/Desired Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering, networking, computer science, cybersecurity, or a closely related STEM discipline.
  • 9 years of experience in the execution and/or planning of offensive or defensive cyberspace operations or closely related military operations
  • Ability to do independent research of friendly and adversary cyber organizations, capabilities and tactics and then write up results of that research with minimal direct supervision 
  • Complete familiarity with existing military cyber organizations (USCYBERCOM, 16th Air Force, Fleet Cyber/10th Fleet, Marine Forces Cyber, etc.) and the ability to quickly reach out to them for information in support of JEMSIAF
  • Familiarity with RF-enabled Cyber, electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) concerns, and EMS Operations or more narrowly, electromagnetic warfare
  • Experience with at least one of the tools or technologies from each of the following categories:
