Job Description



Alion Science and Technology is looking for a Lead Electrical Electronic Engineer with Shipboard Communications experience to support the PMS 385 System Integration branch in C4I and aviation integration on the Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) and Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) vessels, which also support embarking forces.

You will work directly with the Principal Assistant Program Manager (PAPM) and Assistant PMs (APMs) to ensure success of the ship C4I and aviation program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and document technical requirements based on programmatic requirements documents.
  • Provide engineering review of program documents
  • Support development of information technology solutions in accordance with defined requirements
  • Coordinate with PMS 385I program management support and PMS 385 branches to provide solutions aligned across the program.
  • Provide SME inputs on communications including shipboard military and commercial radio frequency and network systems as well as embarkable systems.
  • Provide system engineering expertise to the PMS 385 System Integration Branch
  • Participate in development and delivery of programmatic documents.
  • Support Program Manager compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline plus 8 to 10 years relevant work experience. Master’s degree preferred. Degree(s) must be in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related discipline.

  • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

  • An Active Secret Clearance with eligibility for Top Secret is required for employment.

Desired Experience:

  • Amphibious experience or other experience with shipboard embarkation or integration is desirable.
  • Experience with military communications systems
  • Strong knowledge of communications and network system engineering
  • Working knowledge of military operations
