Job Description

Position Summary:

Lead, design and develop highly complex engineering standards and tests to evaluate the function of products and systems. Develop and implement procedures for product testing, reviews and evaluates test results, and recommends production or design changes to ensure quality and performance standards.

Job Duties:

  • Candidate should be familiar with the Army Cruise Missile Defense Systems (CMDS), PEO Missiles and Space and able to promote the efficient design, development, integration, test, and use of CMDS systems, the contractor shall provide engineering and technical support to CMDS across the Acquisition Life Cycle.
  • Army Systems knowledge includes but is not limited to:
    • Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor System (JLENS)
    • Indirect Fire Protection Capability (IFPC) Inc 2-I
    • SENTINEL Radar (AN/MPQ-64)
    • National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS)
    • IFF and variants, upgrades and prototypes based on these systems and others
  • Provide system level training in the following areas:  network and hardware installations and support, RF networks, collect/analyze data, monitor and maintain systems
  • Devise testing plans, methods and equipment to assure reliability of product in conjunction with product design and specifications. Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.
  • Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.
  • Consult with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
  • Perform analysis, diagnostics and preliminary evaluations of products.
  • Develop testing procedures.
  • Develop test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests. Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes. Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics. Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline plus at least 8 years of directly related experience or a Master’s degree and 6 years of experience.
  • Project management experience.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
