Job Description

The Logistics Engineer will:

  • Provide Logistics support to include but not limited to:
    • Housing/maintaining inventory/accountability, shipping/receiving, and supplying to ensure that AFSOC C2MS information, processes, and systems are ready and available for garrison (CONUS) and deployed (OCONUS) operations (aircraft, Ops Centers, Ground Teams) to ensure functional & effective AFSOC C2 Nodes (e.g., AFSOC OC, Theater SOCs Joint AF Special Operations Forces & Det, etc.).
    • Oversee Logistics matters and support for all AFSOAWC/AC OLs (Hurlburt, Cannon, Kadena, Mildenhall) 
    • Maintain inventory equipment of approximately 22,000 configuration items (CIs), 6 IT Equipment Accounts with inventory value over $5M. Utilize an appropriate inventory management database and other appropriate technology to accurately track status of all items, to include associated projects/requirements and owning office and/or POC. Control access to project materials as appropriate to ensure items are available when needed.
    • Maintain a database of all equipment provided by program offices and issued to users with historical metric tracking info such as warranty service performed, software loads, etc.
    • Utilize forklift for asset placement within warehouse.
    • Utilize and maintain a system to request logistics support and track outbound shipments.
    • Maintain a commercial shipping account and associated funding allocation to support rapid shipment of materiel in situations where other shipping methods are unavailable or inadequate. The annual cost of commercial shipments is expected to be approximately $10k.
    • Ensure AFSOC purchased mobile devices are transferred to supported units through the AFEMS-AIM equipment accounting system IAW AFI 33-153 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) ASSET MANAGEMENT guidance concerning sensitive IT assets.
  • Execute purchases of services, software, apps, licenses, and hardware and track these purchases as directed by the organization.
    Follow all DoD, AF, SOCOM, AFSOC, 1 SOW, or AFSOAWC regulations, AFIs, T.O.s, memos, and other official government guidance when making purchases.
  • Coordinate all software, app, and license purchases with unit’s IA/CM section to ensure that the software is on the appropriate software approval lists (i.e., AF EPL, Hurlburt APO) and tracked in their database.
  • All purchased services, software, apps, licenses, and hardware will be delivered to the Government.
  • Track all purchases in a database specified in DoD, AF, SOCOM, AFSOC, 1 SOW or AFSOAWC regulations, AFIs, T.O.s, memos and other official government or by the unit’s government leadership.
  • Coordinate with unit logistics to ensure that new equipment purchases are added to appropriate equipment/IT accounts and can be tracked in their database.
  • Coordinate all software, app, and license purchases with unit’s IA/CM section to ensure that the software is tracked in their database.
  • 8 years of experience in US military Logistics/Supply/Warehouse settings, with responsibility commensurate with position duties
  • Experience providing Logistics services as described in the position description
  • Required education:  2 Year Degree in related field, or substitute additional experience in lieu of degree
  • Network + or Security+ certification
  • Current SECRET security clearance; Ability to receive a TS/SCI clearance.
