Job Description



Provides technical support in a DoD acquisition program office in PEO Integrated Warfare Systems (IWS). You will support your PEO IWS Navy customer as part of an integrated team from our team office right outside the Washington Navy Yard near the Washington Nationals Stadium. You will:

Support the development and analysis of technical review artifacts, technical documentation, schedules, and action items in an acquisition program office environment.

Review and provide comments on documentation in preparation for meetings, acquisition reviews, and technical working groups. Review technical documentation and deliverables such as System Engineering Plans, Test & Evaluation Master Plans, and high level working papers. Prepare meeting minutes and develop PowerPoint presentations for government manager review and approval.

Apply standard technical concepts, techniques and procedures to provide support to the PEO IWS manager to assist in the planning and execution of the development systems for Navy surface ships.

Provide regular minimally supervised and occasional independent interaction with program office customers and provide input to project managers on programmatic, technical and testing deliverables.

Assist in the analysis of existing systems and the definition, design, and development of new system requirements. Perform basic engineering work in analysis, design, development, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of system and technical product development.

Provide guidance and mentorship to more junior technical staff on our support team. Take a leadership role in the review of documents, development of plans and briefing materials, or participation in technical interchange meetings. Coordinate action item responses and provide independent follow-up.

Assist and provide leadership in the application of new technologies to our Navy’s latest combat systems, weapon systems, and Command and Control systems and networks. Support our Nation’s Navy in fulfilling its mission safely and effectively.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree plus 4-6 years of related experience. Degree should be in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) discipline. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 4 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.

Experience with DoD acquisition programs, surface Navy weapon and combat systems, or command and control systems is required.

Experience with development, integration, or test & evaluation of Navy weapons or combat systems is desired.

Navy veterans with recent AEGIS or SSDS operational experience are encouraged to apply.

Active Secret Clearance within the last two years is required.
