Job Description

The Commonwealth Technology Division (CTD) division of Alion Science and Technology was established to provide quick reaction capability (QRC) engineering and fabrication services to the Federal Government. CTD specializes in the design and production of unique, mission specific, electro-mechanical devices which are typically either one-of-a-kind, or limited production quantities. The company's technical staff of engineers (ME, EE, Systems, and Software), scientists, technicians, machinists, cabinet makers, and other craftsmen are multi-disciplined and possess an exceptional degree of skill levels, coupled with many years of experience. CTD's facilities occupy almost 70,000 square feet of modern industrial space, just outside the Capital Beltway in Alexandria, VA and Sterling, VA. Facilities house engineering and management offices, laboratories, machine shops, model shops, paint booths with fiberglass fabrication capability, and assembly areas, including a "high bay" vehicular ramp access space. The labs and shops are fully outfitted with the latest technology in computers, test equipment, CAD servers/software, and CNC machine tools. The company's location provides for minimum transit time to and from various client operations in the Virginia/Maryland/Washington D.C. area.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a high-level security clearance
  • At least three years of study towards a Bachelor’s Degree in your field
  • Self-starter. Seizes opportunities to initiate and take ownership of projects and improvements. Eager to broaden range of responsibilities.
  • Experience performing hands-on assembly of and modifications to electromechanical systems.
