MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), a leading IT Solutions and Engineering Services company, currently has an opening for a Network Architect supporting U.S. SOUTHERN COMMAND, near Miami Florida.

MacB's Network Architect supports the development of the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Information Environment (JIE) implementation plans by designing and developing client/server environment including, but not limited to:

  • WAN ¿ Point to point (PTP), Cisco Routing and Citrix Load Balancing
  • LAN ¿ Cisco/Brocade switching
  • Servers ¿ Cisco/HP/Dell
  • Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
  • Firewalls
  • Session Internet Protocol (SIP)

The Network Architect will perform various roles including, but not limited to:

  • Planning network layouts and configuration of systems to customer specifications
  • On-site consulting on network architecture
  • Network topology, traffic and capacity requirements analysis
  • Hardware and software acquisition supports well as subcontractor support services
  • Architecture performance measurement and analysis
  • Environment and security ecosystem management to consistently deliver at target performance and Quality of Service (QOS) levels
  • Provide responsive and client friendly project support services
  • Use frameworks such as CMMI and ITIL to benchmark our overall capabilities
  • Participate in strategic and tactical process improvement roadmaps
  • Maintain robust incident management and problem management processes
  • Assess and manage risk
  • Ensure the senior leadership team has a clear understanding of functional risks and weaknesses
  • Advises on feasibility of potential future projects to management
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Management or related field
  • At least 7 years¿ experience of networking experience including LAN, WAN, PTP, firewalls, load balancing, switching/routing and security
  • Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification requirements upon hire by holding the following certifications:
    • DOD 8570.01-M -IAT Level II
      • Baseline Certification: CompTIA Security+ (equivalent or higher security certification)
      • Computing Environment: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Computer Science , Computer Information Management or related field
  • Expert level certification in relevant subject matter (CCIE)
  • Experience in secure DoD networks
