Job Description

Alion’s Secure Computing and Communications (SCC) Division is searching for qualified candidates to manage multiple microelectronic-security hardware and software DoD R&D programs.  These efforts involve cyber security, digital design and simulation, and software development.  Additional experiences which may be utilized include:  FPGAs, Verilog, Electronic Design Automation tools, and software verification and quality assurance.  Ability to help develop specifications and work as a part of a close knit development team is required.  This position will report directly to the Senior Director of SCC and will require a DoD security clearance.  The Program Manager (PM) is responsible for the timely staffing of personnel and top level oversight of the contract project activities.  This includes team organization, assistance in providing methodology and general project approach concepts, interim and final project reviews, overall management of cost, schedule, and performance of all projects/task orders.

 Job responsibilities include:

•Collaborating with project engineers to write and submit monthly and final technical reports

• Ensuring customer goals and reporting requirements are met in areas including customer satisfaction, quality, and team member performance in accordance with contract CDRLs

•Developing PowerPoint briefing presentations, whitepapers, and proposals as required

•Managing program personnel to successfully achieve technical and financial program objectives

•Seeking to increase revenue by remaining alert to new business opportunities or expansion of business with the customer and advising senior operations management

•Developing new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization

•Creating and managing long-term goals

•Developing a budget and operating plan for the program

•Developing an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement

•Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities

•Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, quality, and team member performance

•Developing and manage schedules

•Analyzing program risks

•Working on strategy with Alion’s senior management and marketing team

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and minimum of 8 years of design engineering experience required.
