The Alion Program Manager 2 shall be the authorized agent to interface with the client regarding contract activities, and overall contract or program performance for multiple elements of a multi-program portfolio. Provide management support to programs involving analysis software in unclassified and classified environments and support migration of applications and data at varying classification levels.  Regularly interact with stakeholders at multiple levels of Alion and the federal government.  Provide oversight to staff including PMO, project managers, and technical subject matter experts.  Orchestrate resources across multiple units to ensure customer requirements are achieved in efficient and cost-effective manner. Responsible for formulating and enforcing work deliverables, assigning schedules, reviewing work discrepancies, supervising contractor personnel and communicating policies objectives and goals of the organization to subordinates.   Helps determine both technical and business goals in consultation with top management and make detailed plans for the accomplishment of these goals.  

Program Manager tasks include:

  • PM shall support integration, management, and acquisition for analysis tools and reports at various security levels
  • PM shall support security and compliance requirements for facilities, tools, software, and networks needed towards development and delivery of analysis tools and reports at various security levels
  • Coordinates activities in support of program managers and teams that support the provisioning, design, installation, maintenance, and billing of services.  Tracks and monitors service orders through completion and turn-up.  
  • Ensure that Contractor tasks are completed within the deadlines, contract personnel are qualified to perform the task, and potential personnel problems are pre-empted.
  • Accountable for meeting contractual performance criteria and due dates during service delivery, and successful overall project completion.  
  • Consult and coordinate with the appropriate Task Manager for problem resolution, task scheduling, new resource requirements, training needs, and task clarification.
  • Establish and implement streamlined processes and procedures enabling the Contractor to rapidly respond to surge requirements for increased contract personnel.


  • BS in Business, Business Management, or similar, with preference for MBA.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects, with demonstrated increase in responsibilities through time. 
  • Experience supporting federal government clients, and working knowledge of relevant standards, including the FAR.  
  • Experience with software and/or analysis products for DOD/IC/GEOINT at differing classification levels and experience managing projects in a classified environment preferred.
  • Secret security clearance required, TS/SCI preferred.
