Job Description

Alion ATG Group is hiring an experienced Senior Program Manager (PM) to fill a management position supporting Army Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation (AVN).

Candidates should understand the Army PEO AVN in order to support the development and manage modification programs for common system integrations.  Candidate should be familiar with various mission concerns and products developed to support airworthiness, flight safety, technical interoperability, and sense and avoid capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • The selected candidate shall be responsible for management and oversight of all project activities performed by Alion / subcontractor personnel, to satisfy program requirements.
  • The selected candidate will require strong customer service orientation with a collaborative team mindset.
  • The selected candidate will establish a plan with milestones and monitor adherence to program plan and schedule, identifies program problems, and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of the projects ensuring Alion delivers against contractual obligations, on time and on budget.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring high quality deliverables.
  • The selected candidate will establish and maintain effective relationships with PMO team, customer, subcontractors and other outside agencies.
  • The selected candidate will prioritize workload and determine staffing levels and any adjustments in staffing.  Maintains a staffing level to ensure technical quality and appropriate experience levels are consistent with current and projected project activities.
  • The selected candidate shall lead technical discussions for project reviews.  Prepares and delivers formal briefings.
  • The selected candidate shall represent Alion as primary customer contact for program activities.  Regularly meets with and updates the customer on project status.  Lead program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. 
  • The selected candidate shall develop new business or expands business with the customer.  Coordinates preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract.  Participates in negotiating contract and contract changes.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related technical discipline plus 10 years or Master’s plus 12 years of experience in a technical position. At least 5 years of technical project management experience or certification required.  At least 5 years’ experience managing a staff.
  • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 14 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and management skills as evidenced by previous work experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • US Citizenship and DOD S clearance is required with eligibility for a TS/SCI after hire.
