 Position Summary

This position supports an intelligence community customer storage site with a staff of between 20 - 30 made up of both government employees and contractors. The site receives equipment from contractors, conducts test and inspection activities on new equipment, on equipment being prepared for issue and on equipment returned after use.

Ensures that quality control procedures adequately evaluate products. Determines if current methods and techniques result in meeting reliability standards or require modification. Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

This position is for an experienced Quality Manager to implement the company's ISO 9001:2015 registered Quality Management System across this warehouse’s operations- materials management, project management, design, fabrication, assembly and service provision. We expect that you will apply your skills and shape this position based on your strengths and interests.

Warehouse staff includes project managers, mechanical and electrical engineers, machinists and technicians who work in wood, composites, metals, finishes and electrical and mechanical assembly. 

The Quality Manager takes a hands-on approach to insuring component and process quality, and will use his or her knowledge and expertise to implement our ISO 9001 certification as well as technical skill certification across the workforce.  His or her expertise includes the design process and the manufacturing process in machining and finishing parts and in assembly of parts into completed projects.

The Quality Manager will use analytical and hands-on ability to configure and operate test equipment and electronic devices as well as demonstrated ability to determine pass/fail criteria for customer and commercial equipment as prescribed in technical manuals. Demonstrated understanding of electronic tests covering the range of audio, video, radio frequency and digital categories. Two years’ experience with tests including, Voltage Standing Wave Ration, Effective Isotropic Radiated Power, Signal to Noise and Distortion, Sensitivity and Power Consumption.

Requests support from an engineer to evaluate and act on equipment beyond his or her capabilities.

Reviews and checks documentation of Test & Inspection results.

Reviews and checks Hardware Configuration records and equipment inspection/maintenance/calibration records.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirement with a Bachelor's Degree:

•BS degree in a quality-supporting field: Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial preferred     

10 + years of QA experience with at least 4 in a leadership position     

•Experience with Quality Tools: SPC, 6 Sigma, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, a plus   

•Experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment is required    

•Ability to lead an organization to maintain and improve our posture against ISO 9001 certification and registration requirements    

•Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with abilities to mentor and train teams and individuals on quality related matters    

•Strong organizing, planning, and problem-solving skills
