Job Description

Alion Science and Technology is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer.  The Radar Systems Engineer will need an electrical systems engineering degree and subject matter expert (SME) experience desired with emphasis on radar system integration, including terrain following radar operations. Additional familiarity with aircraft open system architecture concepts, integrated navigation, defensive systems and/or communication systems is also desirable. Specific radar integration tasks include the following:

  • Interface with Special Operation Forces (Air Force and Army) C-130J and helicopter aviation community tactical users and logistics support SMEs. 
  • Periodic telecom and occasional travel to support radar system Community of Practice (CoP) program management reviews and configuration control boards as required.  
  • Occasional travel and SME participation for Research Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) integrated flight-test working group meetings as required (Eglin AFB test center).
  • Occasional travel to primary contractor facility for SME participation in system requirements reviews, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
  • Terrain following radar and integrated system document and artifact program office reviews.  
  • Participation in weekly team meetings and radar status reporting.
