Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Perform a variety of project administration support services involving data review, reporting, project coordination, budget review, and other related duties in support of multiple Research and Development Program Managers.
  • Provide support to the Program Managers in planning, managing, and monitoring projects through its life cycle.
  • Work on overall project planning through reporting on project schedules and deliverables.
  • Brief Program Managers on the status of action items and metrics to track contract performance.
  • Coordinate projects; develops system for data collection, reporting criteria and records; researches and compiles statistics and data for projects; may assist in writing narratives for reports.
  • Monitor project timeline; tracks document submissions; creates, monitors and maintains audit files.
  • Identify, communicate and resolve risks.
  • Identify and resolve issues to eliminate or mitigate the occurrence of consequences that may impact the success of the project. For program compliance, designs and implements procedures to fulfill project objectives and criteria; may prepare memorandums; works with agencies to resolve concerns and issues. Prepares monthly reports.
  • Evaluate and monitor the performance and efficiency of programs to ensure that program implementation is on target. This includes research and development projects focused on advancing and implementing innovations to improve Defense Logistics Agency’s processes. Supports the initiation and execution of R&D projects that mitigate the capabilities shortfalls of the six DLA major subordinate commands and the nine DLA supply chain commodities. Provides project analysis and support for emergent technologies and business process re-engineering. Provide project management for multiple simultaneous technical and logistics projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree plus 10 to 12 years directly related experience working in support of a Program Manager on a government contract.  Master’s degree is preferred. PMP certification preferred.

Experience with research and development projects is required. Experience with Defense Logistics Agency research and development projects is strongly preferred.

Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
