MacAulay-Brown, Inc. an Alion Company is looking for a qualified  Safety Engineer to support the B-52 Program Office at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.  Knowledge and experience in engineering principles, criteria, and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles.

Apply an understanding of DOD, AF and common engineering/scientific principles, processes and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future AF and joint service weapon systems. Contractor personnel shall have system safety engineering knowledge and experience on ACAT I or equivalent aircraft development programs to include: establishing and executing program-level system safety processes consistent with MIL-HDBK-882; leadership of the system safety airworthiness roles and responsibilities consistent with MIL-HDBK-516; and leadership of the system safety OSS&E roles and responsibilities consistent with AFMCI 63-1201; organizing and leading a system safety review board.  Support and conduct the system safety engineering program, including mishap risk assessments; evaluate contractor safety proposals and safety analyses; evaluate safety concerns of Using and Support Commands and assist with resolution of high priority safety issues.

Support in translating user requirements into system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment.

Support project team meetings, working groups, and reviews as needed, such as:  SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, TCM, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM), FCA, PCA, Production Readiness Reviews (PRR), PMR, and other meetings/working groups/reviews as applicable.

Support the government in the engineering evaluation of prime and subcontractor recommendations for operational and support issues such as:  evaluations of Advance Change Study Notices (ACSNs), ECPs, CCPs, FAA Bulletins, modification proposals, DMS, program risk, and related documents.

Perform development and integration of platform software requirements to include Joint Range Extension Applications Protocol, Common Link Integration Processing, Birddog, Bomber Software Builds, Falconview, and mission planning.

Support hardware/software development and related system ground and flight test

Activities such as but not limited to: Hardware In-the-Loop, Subsystem Integration Labs, Developmental Test & Evaluation and Initial Operational Test & Evaluation related activities.

Support Airworthiness directives and assist in platform approval and certification. The contractor will utilize MIL-HDBK-516 (Airworthiness Certification Criteria) to determine applicable requirements, work with Base Engineering to verify assigned systems and subsystems meet established criteria and work with other agencies as required, to achieve a desired level of certification.
