Are you ready to grow your career in Scenario Design and Software Engineering?  Join Alion Science and Technology at Wright Patterson AFB as a Scenario Design Engineer and the possibilities are endless!  We are seeking someone to join our dynamic team.  You can look forward to a variety or projects as you help to support vital training programs for the Air Force Research Laborartory.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under immediate supervision, assists in performing the analysis, configuration, execution, testing of software applications for state of the art simultion systems at the Air Force Research Laboratory.
  • Assists in defining specifications for software applications and/or the maintenance of existing programs to ensure continued performance and compliance with current guidelines and standards.
  • Performs aspects of software development such as testing, debugging and documenting using current guidelines and standards.
  • Drafts architecture requirements and performance standards to meet customer specifications.
  • Participates in the development of test plans.  Tests assigned components and units, and provides test results.
  • Identifies and directs resolution of hardware/software interface issues or other technical problems.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies.
  • Assists in the writing of briefings (reports on analyses, findings, and project progress), project or task plans, system specification manuals, technical reports and user manuals.
  • Participates in the preparation of technical proposals
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Some familiarity with the principles, practices, and procedures used in software and systems development.
  • Knowledge of software development tools and programming languages is desired but not required.
  • A SECRET security clearance may be required after employment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other technical field with 0-2 years' experience.
