Job Description

Summary:

Alion Science and Technology’s Advanced Cyber Operations division is looking for highly qualified System Administrator candidates to work as part of a diverse team of cyber and intelligence professionals providing 24/7 intelligence operations, systems engineering and innovation, and sustainment of Information Technology systems in support of Component Commanders providing relevant products to the war fighter.  The Senior System Administrator will be a senior member of a team of administrators to support the customer’s systems in order to provide accurate, time sensitive data while innovating, coordinating, and enabling network resources to enable proficiency, cost savings, and improve reliability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide ongoing system administration, address availability issues, overcome performance problems and provide overall support. Design, install, maintain and coordinate the use of enterprise systems.  Evaluate hardware and software and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks.  Manage resources performance, diagnose performance problems and perform configuration activities to ensure system’s performance meets requirements.  Troubleshoot and resolve problems to ensure system availability. Report on issues including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to resolve issues affecting availability. Train users, maintain, create and delete user accounts. Maintain and update system security plans on all platforms. Implement and coordinate system policies, procedures and standards. Enforce applicable security controls and procedures.

•    Perform on a team of highly skilled administrators to provide reliable network resources, improve operations, increase capabilities and achieve all program objectives
•    Ensure goals of customer satisfaction and team member performance are tracked and met
•    Ensure systems are secure and comply with all local and DoD policies.
•    Provide notifications to the customer as necessary of any issues affecting system reliability, availability, confidentiality, or integrity

Qualifications:

Education 

•    M.S in a related technical field and less than 2 years’ experience OR
•    B.S. in a related technical field and 2 years’ experience
•    In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience

Certifications:

•    DoD 8570 IASAE lvl II (Security + CE)
•    Linux related certifications (LPIC 1 & 2)
•    Windows Server 2008 or higher
•    Other Microsoft related certifications considered
•    In some cases, certification requirements may be adjusted for combination of certifications and applicable work experience. 
 

Experience


•    Minimum of 2 years’ experience in virtual environment administration 
•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Linux administration


Must hold a current TS/SCI clearance.
