Location: Warren, MI (Detroit Arsenal)

This position is on the Test and Evaluation Team (TET) under Product Assurance and Test (PA&T) Group, which supports the U.S. Army's Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) and Program Management Offices (PMO) under PEO GCS and PEO CS&CSS. This position would be collocated in GVSC as a Test and Evaluation engineer supporting GVSC test programs/projects. 

Duties of Position:

  • Responsible for development of test planning and execution of shakedown testing, safety testing, and Soldier Operational Experiments. 
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of test activities at test site(s) (e.g. Aberdeen Test Center, Grayling), including resolution of test execution issues, chairing of daily test update meetings, management of on-site test representatives, tracking of test progress, etc.
  •  Manage test cost, schedule, scope and risk throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Responsible to lead/support program Test Readiness Reviews (TRR),  Technical Reviews (TR), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), In-Process Reviews (IPRs), and Design Reviews. 
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment with product managers, logistics, operations, mission engineering, along with multiple external Government organizations to include Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC), C5ISR (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), Armaments Center (AC), and other Product Offices along with the defense industry. 
  • Must have strong writing skills to generate scopes of tests, detailed test plans, schedules, and to assist in generating technical documentation in support of Program Decisions and Safety Releases. 
  • Travel (up to 25% with a surge during test events) to the test sites in support of related meetings and test events.
  • Develop and present data for reviews to provide timely and accurate reporting and program status to internal/external elements.
  • Have a working knowledge of program management (program planning, execution, risk management, configuration management, metrics, earned value systems, issue resolution).
  • Provide technical advice and knowledge of program, system engineering and value management technologies.
  • Review and analyze system performance against requirements for the application and integration of improved designs into the system.
  • Integrate program management processes to align with engineering standards and perform effective execution and compliance with established program decisions.


  • Typical Test Engineers have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other ABET accredited degrees.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain and hold a SECRET clearance.
