Job Description

This position supports an intelligence community customer storage site with a staff of between 20 - 30 made up of both government employees and contractors. The site
receives equipment from contractors, conducts test and inspection activities on new equipment, on equipment being prepared for issue and on equipment returned after use.
Other technical staff build equipment components that support unique equipment configuration requirements.

Prepares visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts. Plans, analyzes, and creates original visual solutions to communications projects, matching colors and design and developing adhesive solution to put the design on the required object at the correct location. Uses perspective, isometric, orthographic, and schematic techniques to prepare technical and non-technical illustrations and line drawings for slide presentations, view graphics, reports, brochures, etc. Produces promotional displays, packaging, and marketing brochures for products and services, designs distinctive logos for products and businesses, and develop signs and signage systems for business and government. Gathers relevant information by meeting with customers, and by performing own research. Prepares sketches or layouts by hand or with the aid of a computer to illustrate vision for the design.

Expert in graphics to meet customer requirements for type of material, shape, size, color and finish/sheen, etc. Capable of creating graphics from pictures and/or drawings with dimensions, or from exemplars, with specific additional characteristics/requirements described by the customer or associated with the customer’s specific requirements. Also capable of creating a design for the customer’s approval and turning that design into finished graphics.

Recommends specific material and attachment methodology to be used to meet customer requirements, including selection of appropriate adhesives.

Capable of doing production work for most or all requirements using various techniques and equipment. Advises customer on additional equipment/materials required to meet single or emerging requirements.

Must have a wide familiarity and relationships with local firms who can accomplish unusual tasks with equipment, processes or skills not available at the customer site when the customer allows specific work to be accomplished outside their facilities.

Apply graphics to custom surfaces. Works closely with other material shop experts to insure proper bond between graphics and underlying surface.
