Job Description

Alion is currently seeking a Technical Program Manager to support A. I. and big data projects. The ideal candidate will have experience managing project technical requirements, strong communication skills, and the desire to work with diverse cross-functional teams.

In this position, you will:

  • Act as the primary link between our engineers and our analysts to develop and breakdown customer requirements.
  • Regularly meets with and updates the project leadership on project status.  Leads vendor evaluation sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance of offerings.
  • Work with engineers to understand the technical requirements of their systems and analytics and balance those requirements with customer and analyst needs. 
  • Breakdown technical requirements into simple language.
  • Incorporate best practices, standards and processes as well as draw on team expertise resources to provide timely, technically sound recommendations that meet customer requirements.

 

Required Skills:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or similar.
  • 5-5 years experience  
  • Technical project management experience
  • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Experience with breaking customer requests down into achievable technical requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong Customer service orientation.

Desired Skills:

  • PMP Certification
  • Data parsing/transforming techniques to include JSON, XML, CSV formats.
  • Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites. (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github Enterprise, etc.)
  • Experience with PAI datasets and data providers.
  • Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and core technologies.
