Position Summary

This position will support the PEO Aviation UAS Program Office in Huntsville, AL. Army PEO Aviation designs, develops, delivers and supports advanced aviation capabilities.

The Training Analyst/Faciliitator prepares and/or conducts training programs of a non technical nature, teaches classes, holds seminars and discussion groups.


  • Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel.
  • Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
  • Formulates teaching outline in conformance with selected instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such training methods as individual coaching, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
  • Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments.
  • May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs. Responsible for development of e-learning programs.
  • Confers with management, employees and clients to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
  • Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
  • Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
  • Facilitates the execution of all training programs.
  • Monitors training costs to ensure budget is not exceeded, and prepares budget reports to justify expenditures.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Training and Development or a related discipline plus 2 to 4 years of directly related experience. Master’s degree preferred. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the training field. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than seven years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent presentation and teaching skills with ability to create successful hands-on learning experiences for students.
  • Ability to quickly learn moderately complex subject matter with the skill to present the material to a live audience.
  • Must have the ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Moderate degree of creativity and self-directed work is required.
  • An active Secret Security Clearance is required.
