Job Description

Position Summary

  • Serves as Lead Training Coordinator for a DOD project that is complex and in a developmental phase as it relates to military operations. 
  • Under the general direction of an Alion project, program, and/or division manager, and within the scope of work, Training Coordinator will support daily and long-term tasks associated with the Joint Operations Support Program’s mission and training program. 
  • The Training Coordinator shall possess the following capabilities:
  • Experience in Training Management - with ability to develop and manage training plans for multiple programs/projects.
  • Experience with course management - Provide general knowledge on scheduling, evaluating training requirements, define and develop training, create training objectives and goals (Enabling Learning Objectives/Terminal Leaning Objectives), and draft and finalize training and support documentation

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning and coordination of JOSP sponsored training events with internal stakeholders and external organizations.
  • Review and document end of course critique & feedback forms using student evaluations, personal observations, and feedback from supported organizations to develop performance improvement recommendations.
  • Will assist mission partner with assessment of training objectives and goals to determine effectiveness of training curriculum that may lead to adjustments of existing enabling learning objectives /terminal learning objectives.
  • Will serve as primary liaison in scheduling mission partner personnel for attendance at external DoD level sponsored training events.
  • Manage JOSP training database. Recording and entering status completion of students into JOSP training database.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus 8 to 10 years directly relevant work experience. Experience may be substituted for Education

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ideal candidate will have documented working experience in training management, course development knowledge, and experience in documenting and maintaining training records.  Working knowledge of DoD training cycle.
  • Computer literate and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
