Alion Science and Technology is seeking a 3D Artist/Modeler to support game engine based training system development in a fast-paced, high tempo design and development environment.  This position is located in Orlando, FL.  The successful candidate shall be a member of team of junior / mid-level artists creating a game based virtual environment from existing CAD models, existing model files and conceptual art.  Responsibilities include the development of a wide range of 2D and 3D materials for real-time simulation and training applications, as well as help to define and support the production pipeline. Coordinate with a variety of engineers, artists, and project professionals to employ a wide range of skills and software tools in support of the visual and technical designs for various IMI Level training scenarios. Support the overall look of curriculum development to maintain a consistent brand across all training modules. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.

Four-year college degree, in an animation related discipline, plus 3 years related experience. Proficient in 3D Studio Max , Photoshop, and PolyTrans. Strong understanding of and experience with 3D graphics development pipeline in a military training environment. Must possess strong animation and design sensibilities. Able to prioritize, complete multiple tasks and work under deadlines. Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. Must be able to take direction and critiques as well as work closely with various members of a courseware development team.

Experience with real-time game engines and asset production desired (Unity, Unreal, CryENGINE, etc). Experience developing immersive, optimized, realistic real-time animations and effects desired. Experience with importing and exporting data across a variety of platforms. Demonstrated experience modeling, texturing, lighting, animating, and shading 3D objects, terrains, characters, or creating visual effects. Strong artistic and design sensibilities are a must for this position so a portfolio review of your best work is required before consideration.  The ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance may be required.
