Position Summary:

ALION is seeking an Acquisition Program Manager that will be responsible for partnering with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center and other Air Force Major Command customers to document requirements and develop acquisition program documentation and strategies to ensure Air Force weapon systems program acquisition success.


You will be required to prepare and support preparation of USAF acquisition products with a focus on the Engineering and Manufacturing Development and Operations and Support phases of the defense acquisition process (Acquisition Strategy, Courses of Action, Request for Proposals, etc.) in preparation for Milestone decisions (B and/or C).  You will be required to oversee the execution of assigned programs, brief program status and strategies to senior personnel.


  • Must have a bachelor's degree in a technical or management discipline plus 8 years or Master’s degree plus 5 years of related experience.  Supervisory/management experience preferred.   
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of USAF acquisition, aircraft weapon systems, DoD and USAF acquisition-related directives & regulations, and the JCIDS requirements process and documents.
  •  Must have recent experience in managing acquisition processes in support of aircraft weapon systems procurement.  Relevant experience relating to electronic warfare systems or test programs may be considered.  First-hand experience in the preparation of acquisition documentation required (i.e. ASPs, RFPs, PWSs, SOOs, CDRLs, etc.)
  • Periodic travel is required to participate in program level working groups (i.e. program management reviews, system requirements reviews, developmental test planning, etc.)
  • The individual must possess sufficient motivation and experience to perform with little to no supervision.
  • Must have experience presenting information to senior personnel.
  • Must be proficient in MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active SECRET clearance.
