Job Description

Alion is looking for an Agile Systems Analyst that will work closely with the customer and our development teams design and build applications that meet our Department of Defense, Federal and commercial customers’ requirements regarding security assessments of various types. The candidate will be part of a team that interfaces with the customer to:

  • Conduct as-is analyses of existing security processes to identify, define, interpret, and clarify scope of problems/issues in terms of business/systems requirements and processes
  • Elicit and clarify with the customer a to-be state (product vision),
  • Facilitate, document and drive requirements clarification with the customer using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Develop a product roadmap, identifying epics that match the customer’s need for delivered capabilities
  • Developer user stories and issues to create a product backlog that supports the product roadmap. 
  • Facilitate the development an application in functional phases by participating in an Agile Scrum process to manage the completion of the product backlog and participate in the events surrounding the software development sprints.
  • Participate and facilitate testing of software iterations

The ideal candidate will be a strong team contributor who is will be eager to learn and has a background in meeting customers’ software/application requirements in an Agile environment. The candidate must be comfortable taking a leading role in meeting with the customer and be a self-starter.

Position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.  Writing/eliciting Epics and decomposing them into User Stories sized appropriately for the iteration.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree
  • Self-starter, ability to maintain productivity in absence of specific tasking
  • Strong experience with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience developing software requirements packages
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Detail oriented, strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work in a diverse team of software professionals.
  • Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites. (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github Enterprise, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in security processes such as physical security, personnel vetting, information security, cyber security
  • Experience in Department of Defense or Federal project
  • Experience with risk analysis software (e.g. CounterMeasures or its DoD variants, EPRM/SMS)

Security Clearance:

  • SECRET required to start
  • Must be willing to submit for TS/SCI
