Responsibilities/Qualification

Position Summary

We are seeking a field scientist to coordinate and collect ambient air samples over a multi-state environmental monitoring network.

As a key contributor you will be responsible for facilitating the prioritization and scheduling of data collection activities.

Your focus will be performing Air Monitoring using the PM2.5 equipment, NPAP-TTP (Through the Probe) Air Monitoring, QA/QC reporting, and equipment maintenance/calibration.

Attention to details and providing quality reports, both oral and written, to management is key factor in this role.

A strong math background to perform calculations and other data reduction activities is essential.



Qualifications

Education and Expereince

Requires a Bachelor's  degree in Physical or Life Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Biology or equivalent) with 2 years of experience.

Ideal candidate will have particulate matter, PM2.5, and TTP certifications or experience.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software required.

Position requires repetitive motion with hands, lifting up to 50 pounds, physically conveying a BGI PQ2000 Air Monitor to the tops of buildings or sampling platforms, moving compressed gas cylinders, and visual determination of precise measurements.

Travel to New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas approximately 60% (two to three weeks per month, trips typically range from five to nine days). Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable. Requires extended periods of driving, and ability to pull trailer.

Must be US Citizen; no sponsorship available. Position is based in Houston, Texas. Applicant will successfully complete Public Trust Certification prior to final hire. This is a full time position and comes with company benefits.
