Responsibilities/Qualification

Position Summary

Associate Analyst for a NAVSEA program, assists in developing and maintaining Microsoft Office based products to manage data related to surface ship modernization operations and modernization data metrics.

Under the supervision of the government customer, performs assignments in the area of navy ship modernization, including data collection, compilation, and analysis. Anticipates future requirements.  Assists in evaluating plans for various projects or program activities to meet requirements.    


Duties and Responsibilities           

Conducts analytical studies of navy ship repair and modernization operations and uses a rational basis for decision making or resource allocation.

Assists senior analysts in providing strategic solutions to government customer, based on analysis of data provided.

Operates in multinational, interagency, joint, and service unique environments.

Applies operational background, as well as academic understanding of analytic theory and principles to assist in solving current and/or future mission needs or to correct problem areas.

Assists in preparing or coordinating the preparation of Microsoft Office based products as required.

Participates in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, readiness exercises, training, education and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.

Under supervision of the government customer, tracks metrics on the quality of programs and documents.  

Assists in the resolution of project and program priorities.  Assures quality control throughout all contract activities.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related scientific discipline plus 0 – 2 years of directly relevant work experience.  

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more comparable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by 
market survey data.

Junior level personnel, with some shipboard maintenance experience, separating from the Navy are encouraged to apply for this position.  New college graduates who are looking for a career in government contracting are also encouraged to apply.
     
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.

Good communication (verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills required.

Familiarity with NAVSEA 21 organization, preferably maintenance and modernization programs.

Familiarity of the Surface Ship Modernization program and Navy Modernization Process.

Knowledge of surface ship classes.

Strong customer service orientation.

Ability to multi-task.

A Secret security clearance is required.
