Job Description


Alion is actively seeking a financial analyst with a Secret Security Clearance with at 0-2 five years experience in support of an active contract with the U.S. Navy.  This position witll support the Program Executive Office Submarines program office, PMS404, Joint Undersea Weapons Program Office, that oversee the design, production, delivery, life cycle support of an armament cooperative project with the RAN.  This position will be in Washington, DC at the Navy Yard.

Provides financial analyst services to civil, defense and national security government agencies, including data gathering, budget and financial analysis, and trend analysis.
Responsible for various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting and analysis.
Collects and reviews financial data from various sources.
Creates, maintains, and updates financial databases and spreadsheets, and generates various financial reports as required. Maintains appropriate records and documentation.
Provides financial models and financial statements, applies forecasting techniques, and evaluates performance against budget submissions.
Communicates timely and accurate program status updates to all clients as required.
Makes recommendations to management to improve the financial performance of the organization.
Identifies and resolves moderately complex problems as well as to prevent future problems.
Ensures compliance with federal regulations and agency or client specific policies.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education / Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus 0 to 2 years of directly related experience preferably in a government contracting environment.

Education and work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.

Knowledge of DAR, FAR, and other relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

Knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

A Secret security clearance required.

Knowledge of financial, accounting, and forecasting concepts:

A background in financial oversight of various internal tracking tools, management of funding documents and deliverables to field activities and contractors.

An ability to conduct financial reconciliation utilizing Excel documentation for tracking and identifying outstanding funding and rectifying historical transactions

General program management skills including but not limited to supporting the U.S.G. and its foreign partners in developing, tracking, and dispersing formal documents, preparing and supporting meetings including recording action items and minutes and developing briefing packets to clients

A capacity to prepare monthly bank reporting (verifying bank ledgers, bank statements & internal forms), tracking reductions, acquittals & reallocations for field activity and contractor invoicing, and managing detailed budgets on behalf of the U.S.G and its foreign partners
