Job Description



Responsibilities/Qualification

Under immediate supervision, assists in engineering work related to researching, designing, and developing mechanical products, perform mechanical and ocean engineering design and analysis tasks, develop mechanical/ocean engineering installation plans.  May test designs and mooring systems in test lakes, ponds, and open ocean environments.

Supports senior technical personnel and project managers within own organization in various technical activities related to design and technical product development. Receives immediate supervision from management as well as technical guidance and training from the more experienced technical staff. 

The candidate will be part of a team of engineers and technicians providing engineering and technical support at MARMC.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Applies standard technical concepts, techniques, and procedures to provide assistance to higher-level engineers in the design and development of technical products. Typically follows guidelines established by precedence.

Performs basic engineering work in analysis, design, development, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of system and technical product development. Duties often include the collection of information and data, performance of various tests, and the development of technical documents.

Has limited independent interaction with customers and typically provides input to project managers on programmatic and technical deliverables under immediate supervision by more senior technical personnel. 

Complies with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties. May provide recommendations for improvements to existing quality systems and applicable company procedures and guidelines.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.



Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree plus 0 to 2 years of related experience.  Degree must be in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.

Familiarity with Siemens NX drafting software is highly desired

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Basic knowledge of engineering principals, methods, and techniques within a specific area of expertise.

Basic knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.

Basic internal team communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Candidate must be eligible for immediate upgrade to Secret clearance upon employment.
