Responsibilities/Qualification

Position Summary

Alion is seeking an Associate Project Controller in support of the Army’s Synthetic Environment (SE) Core program.  Candidate would participate in the development of the monthly Earned Value Management (EVM) customer deliverables as well as other internal financial monthly reporting items.  The SE Core program provides the common infrastructure definition and the SE artifacts necessary to enable simulations to participate in the Live, Virtual and Constructive Integrated Training Environment (LVC ITE).

Duties and Responsibilities 

Support the EVM process from CAM input through Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) deliverable on a monthly basis.  Duties include:

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of cost/schedule baselines, WBS and related dictionaries, schedules or Resource Loaded Networks (RLN's), and budgets
  • Performs related cost and schedule variance analysis
  • Administration of the monthly program Baseline Change Request (BCR) process
  • Support the preparation of monthly IPMR Formats 1-7 and Contract Funds Status Report (CFSR)

Additional activities include:

  • Monthly Revenue and Fee reporting and variance analysis
  • Assists in the preparation of program financial Estimates at Complete (EAC)
  • Subcontractor and vendor accruals in accordance with GAAP and internal policies to ensure that the project’s cost/commitment is accurately captured and reported internally and externally
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis on the contract as required
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

 Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Program Management related field plus 0 to 2 years of Program Control or related and progressive experience with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required. 

Education and work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.  Education requirements may be waived with comparable years of related experience.

     Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Excel and overall MS Office suite
  • Strong organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines.
  • Must be analytical, possess strong communication and presentation skills and have the ability to work independently as well as a member of a team. 
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Experience with Earned Value Management principles is a plus
  • Must be US citizen; no dual citizenship allowed.
  • Active SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
