Job Description



Join a team of analysts, engineers and support personnel (and sub-contractors) providing systems engineering support to the U.S. Navy Shipbuilding programs.

Support DDG 51 Class Combat Systems and Test branch, primarily for Test and Evaluation (T&E), logistics and programmatic support.  Apply program management skills in determining and developing executable schedules within the TEMP that consider availability of all assets and resources required. Be able to assess, evaluate and provide recommendations regarding test events issues that may affect the Combat Systems division. Duties also include interface with services contractors and two shipbuilders to manage and support equipment deliveries in support of ship production.  

Support management and planning services for T&E, TEMP technical reviews, engineering design recommendations for DDG space changes and shipyard waterfront support.  Evaluate and review proposed Combat System ICPs, ECPs and SHIPALTs to determine technical and programmatic impact and recommend course of actions on shipbuilding systems engineering issues.

Ensure compliance to environmental laws and regulations during acoustic and sonar testing by coordinating with environmental experts at Bath Iron Works and Huntington Ingalls shipbuilding facilities.

Review national environmental testing procedures, policies and memorandums for applicability and impact to the DDG 51 program.

Perform ESOH functions in accordance with DODI 5000.02. Develops documentation such as hazard analyses. Must be capable of preparing complex reports, briefings and presentations. Provides direct supervision to junior technical staff members.

Provide support in researching, planning, budgeting, managing, conducting, executing and evaluating Combat Systems integration and test/trial activities. Provide backup support to the DDG 51 Ship Program Reviews, participate in trials when necessary, provide Shipchecks, meeting participation and preparing meeting minutes. Candidate must provide flexible support to customer for the coordination of requirements reviews, technical reviews, and test events of Combat Systems on New Construction ARLEIGH BURKE Class Destroyers.



Bachelor's degree in specialty focus plus 2-4  years of experience in business process analysis.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 6 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

In some cases educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 5 years of applicable work experience in US Navy surface combatant Combat Systems related billets. 

Ideal candidate will have previous experience providing on-going support to the customer on organizational programs and projects in area of expertise, and conducting research on existing systems and makes improvement recommendations.

Ability to define client needs and assists with developing a plan/proposal for delivery of project. 

U.S. Naval service and experience onboard Aegis Combat Systems equipped surface ships, weapons centers, training stations, and testing facilities is highly desired.

Experience with Naval Sea Systems Command / Program Executive Office project support and engineering change process is a plus.

Confident action oriented, self-starter with a sense of integrity and actively contribute to building and expanding consultancy services.

Ability to write clear, concise and easily readable technical correspondence to document reviews of technical recommendations following technical reviews and collating of comments. Articulate in oral and written presentations; possess high organizational skills and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.

This position does require travel (10 percent).

A technical writing sample demonstrating quality of work and analytical skills may be requested.

An active Secret clearance is required.
