  MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB) is looking for a Cloud Architect that has experience with Amazon Web Services infrastructure (SC2S, C2S), e.g. looking at an existing service or data center and then architecting a more effective solution in AWS. Build and architect new solutions, data center migrations, and scaling their adoption of cloud technologies. The candidate will perform systems modeling, simulation and analysis. They will collaborate with hardware design engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems and work with them to resolve incompatibilities. Candidate should have an inquisitive nature, responsiveness, and excellent testing skills. Must also possess strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines. Patience in working with non-technical end users is essential.

Security Clearance:

  • A current Secret government clearance is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification
  • Direct experience architecting solutions in the AWS Cloud or AWS GovCloud (US) environments.
  • Assigned Roles and Policies to Users, Security Groups by using Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Successfully architected & built, cost effective and secure AWS environment to enable migration of application to AWS.
  • Provided architecture guidance and proof of concept for selected Business Units, assessing migration feasibility and deployment strategy based on AWS Architecture best practices.
  • Provided guidance on AWS operations and deployment, and best practices throughout the lifecycle of a projects.
  • Influence technical solutions to meet evolving business requirements, while reducing TCO, maintaining resiliency, scalability, leveraging standard building blocks to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Evaluate technologies, solutions and applications to identify cost saving opportunities
  • Familiarity with core AWS capabilities (security - IAM / ACL / Trusted adviser, VPC, Cloud Formation, Cloud Front, EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, SQS, SNS, Elastic, Lambda, IoT, Code Deploy, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, Redshift & ECS).
  • Analyze impact of new technologies on existing services, perform gap analysis and ensure that technical components are mapped to business capabilities and established architectural framework.
  • Involved in designing and deploying applications utilizing almost all of the AWS stack (Including EC2, Route53, S3, RDS, IAM) focusing on high-availability, fault tolerance, and auto-scaling.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in SAML, AD Federations, Multi-Factor Authentication and implanted the IAM module.
  • Configured the Cloud Trails logs for security audit using the Cloud Watch with automated alerts to emails.
  • Created S3 backups using versioning enable and moved objects to Amazon Glacier for archiving purpose. 
  • Created users and groups using IAM and assigned the individuals to the each group based on their roles.
  • Create technical architecture diagrams and reference models to document architectural decisions.
  • Developed scripts for maintaining servers running in Amazon Web Services (AWS). These scripts facilitated the backup, shutdown, startup, and email notification of events using the SNS, SQS and SWF. 
  • Involved in designing and developing Amazon Elastic Load Balancing, and EMR.
  • Implemented NACL, Security groups for Inbound/Outbound access using the ELB and VPC peering
  • AWS data backup (snapshot, AMI creation) and DR techniques, along with data-at-rest security within AWS.
  • Must be willing and able to learn new things and stay on top of the latest and greatest technologies.

Desired Skills:

  • Scripting experience with Ruby, Bash, Python or Puppet is a huge plus.
  • Hadoop Certification with Cloudera or Hortonworks is a plus.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) is a plus.
  • Certification (or experience) in Azure, or other industry leading Cloud technology
  • Familiarity with Agile project management (SCRUM, Kanban, XP, etc)
  • DoD 8570.01 IAM level ¿ II/III certification (any one of CAP, CISM, CISSP, GSLC)
  • Familiarity/Experience with NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, RMF and information security testing processes
  • Experience with Software development or Network Infrastructure support a plus
  • Machine learning, artificial intelligence, neural networks experience is a huge plus (e.g. Tensorflow)
