Responsibilities/Qualification

This exciting position supports the analysis and production of security documentation based on ICD 503 and NIST standards. In this position you will support a highly regarded Department of Defense agency that provides imagery support from first responders to warfighters. This position also provides quick evaluations of programs from a security standpoint to government program managers to be used in planning, monitoring, and support resource allocations. 

 In this position you will:

-Interact with government customers on a daily basis.

- Establish a documentation methodology and suggest improvements based on client/team feedback.

- Support the production, maintenance, and revisions of the Cybersecurity Operating Procedures, Systems Security Plans, Software lists, and maintain Approval to Operate (ATO) documentation.

- Work directly with internal product owner, business analysts, software developers, system administrators, technical and functional SMEs, business users, and end users to gather and vet the information required for the required documentation set.

- Performs schedule risks assessments to identify and mitigate program/project security risks.

-Provide technical writing support by gathering required information and documenting it for pre and post ATO.

-Assist the customer in determining if and how system enhancements may improve process flow and function with regards to an ATO.

-Be responsible for cloud transition documentation, as well as contributing to end-user and project management documentation.

-Write helpful, accurate, well-organized, consistent, and highly effective content from scratch also improve upon existing documentation by standardizing format and adding up to date content.

- Create and maintain documentation pertaining to all aspects of software applications, systems operations, system testing, and end user documentation.

- Work with the organization to review and edit documentation throughout the writing process.

- Translate verbal and written technical requirements into documentation for the appropriate audiences within set deadlines.

-Work closely with engineers, data analysts, platform analyst, program and support teams to ensure the quality and accuracy of the content you create and develop.

-Share completed documentation with the organization, and answer questions related to it.

 Basic requirements:

-Demonstrated ability to identify and document business, program, and application requirements, and technical specifications from artifacts.

-Demonstrated ability to decompose requirements and existing systems into documentation.

-Design, write, and edit process documentation as well as technical documentation for software products, features and platforms.

Requirements:

-B.S. degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering.

-Knowledge of the government environment relating to technical, scientific and analytical services.

-Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

-Minimum of 3+ years of security experience (experience and understanding of all security domains).

-Minimum of 5 years of IT experience (server/desktop hardware & software, networking, storage, disaster recovery, and backup/restore).

-Minimum of 3+ years of cloud security and IT experience (AWS preferred).

-10-12 years all around IT experience.

-Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

-A current security clearance of TS/SCI.

-Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Highly knowledgeable of security regulations:

-ICD 503

-NIST 800-53

 Well qualified candidates will also demonstrate expertise in the following technical areas:

-Cloud systems engineering and operational experience in Information Technology.

-Broad-based working knowledge of cloud platforms, identity federation, networking, application, database, infrastructure and/or server administration.

-Information Security and control certifications preferred (CISSP, CISM, Security Plus, etc.).

-Experience designing, configuring, implementing and leveraging cloud services models such as SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS for system security.

-AWS Solution Architect, CISSP, CCSP, CEH or other information system security certifications.

-Prior security engineering experience.
