Responsibilities/Qualification

Summary:

The Joint Staff J7 (JSJ7) Cloud Engineer is a professional in cloud service approaches and architectures.  Will perform the duties of a cloud architecture and develop strategies for the programs migration plans. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional and professional customer service to clients and internal staff at the direction of the Infrastructure Lead
Perform server, network, and data center approaches, configuration and remediation and support
Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
Administrate container based infrastructure
Actively participate in high level team activities such as suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements and conducting tool evaluations
Follow change control policies to implement change within customer environments

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related discipline, plus 5-7 years of related experience.   In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years of applicable work experience.  Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data. Experience building and managing virtualization technologies, enterprise container technologies such as OpenStack, Redhat OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes  desired. Installation and sustainment of operating systems including Redhat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server 2xxx, Windows 10, Redhat Identity Manager, Redhat Directory Server and Windows Active Directory integration to include Certificate Logon (CLO) a plus.  Experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM, VMWare, XEN. Familiarity with public cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google). Must be well spoken with experience interfacing with senior management.  Experience with Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guidelines Strong technical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and digest technical information Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems Ability to visualize overall view of systems and conceptualize and document creative solutions Strong attention to detail Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities Must possess excellent team coordination, oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Motivated self-starter

Experience in systems administration 

Security+ required.

Linux+ and/or Microsoft certification highly desired.

Must Currently Hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance
