Responsibilities/Qualification

Job Duties:

  • The Communications Analyst will support a Communications on the Move program, including the following duties:
  • Perform liaison between Program Office and government lab to focus network development and sustainment efforts across all acquisition discipline goals and objectives.
  • Support engineering, acquisition, logistics and programmatic IPTs by developing and presenting briefings on government lab initiatives.
  • Support development of acquisition engineering documentation.
  • Provide engineering input to all programmatic documentation as required.
  • Assist in the tracking of procurement of large volume of communications devices used required to test and evaluate C2 systems.
  • Provide technical expertise in Marine Corps command and control systems and integration.
  • Construct and test systems in the development environment.
  • Integrate and implement systems and the supporting infrastructure in the operational environment.
  • Monitor and analyze performance problems and recommend solutions to enhance functionality, reliability, and usability.
  • Develop transition strategies and plans to transition from legacy systems.
  • Directly interface with various government officials including Program Office personnel, government laboratories, and outside vendor/contractor support personnel.
  • Consult with sponsors, stakeholders, end-users, managers and vendors to determine C2 network goals and system requirements.
  • Help lead research to design new computer technology for improved performance of existing computer systems and software as well as the development of new hardware or computing techniques and materials.
  • Use subject matter expertise to employ creative thinking, complex problem solving, time management, and effective interpersonal communication – both written and verbal.
  • Conduct systems and application evaluations and analyze results to determine commercial, industrial, scientific, medical, military, or other uses for developmental software/systems.
  • Use the planning, research, analysis, evaluation, documentation, and report presentation skills required to resolve operational or predictive problems involving communications systems. 
  • Analyze the key components of the project to determine the most probable approach for resolution.
  • Provide representation and/or technical support at off-site project locations, including the formulation of the sponsor's requirements for analysis.
  • Prepare written status reports and technical manuals as required.
  • As required, contribute to formal briefings to the staff, to project sponsors, and to other outside agencies.
  • Participate in scheduled project review sessions and in informal interfaces with the sponsor or other outside agency.
  • Comply with quality assurance and security procedures in the performance of duties.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

Experience in supporting Marine Corps acquisition programs required.

Marine Corps network or SATCOM experience desired.

The candidate must have experience working autonomously with minimal oversight and supervision.
Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Continued update of skills in state-of-the-art communications technology.
Strong customer service orientation.

Secret clearance or ability to obtain.

Bachelor's Degree plus 3-5 years of relevant experience.
