Seeking a talented Electrical/Computer Engineer to perform research and development of advanced RF and communication concepts with focus on supporting prototype hardware and software development demonstrating capability to meet emerging Army requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and assess system components which make up the overall systems' design
- Develop, assemble, test and evaluate RF and communications systems, subsystems and components
- Plan and execute tests; organize and analyze test results; develop and present technical briefings and reports
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 7+ years of experience.
- Solid background in RF system design and analysis
- Hands-on experience designing and prototyping hardware systems, preferably including communications applications
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in one or more applicable areas, e.g., LPI and LPD communications, waveform development, analog/digital signal processing, etc.
- Ability to analyze and model RF communication links i.e. GSM, LTE, 5G, other commercial standards
- Working experience with typical programming languages including C/C++, Java, Python
- Familiarity with DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and SDR (Software Defined Radio) workflow in GNU Radio, MATLAB, and/or LabVIEW
- Experience with standard laboratory test equipment (e.g. spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, oscilloscope, etc.)
- Good understanding of interface programming for UARTs, DMA, GPIOs, SPI, I2C, etc.
- US Citizenship
- Must be able to obtain a secret clearance
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Desired Qualifications:
- MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 4+ years of experience
- Familiarity with Radar and/or EW R&D
- Distributed sensing and processing
- Experienced with integration of Software Defined Radios
- Experience in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligent (AI)
- Experience in developing FPGA application for Xilinx in Vivado Design Suite
- Experience developing software for embedded systems including ARM and SHARC processors
