Position Summary
Alion Science and Technology Corporation is seeking a Construction Quality Assurance Monitor to provide Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) support to a major DoD Agency located in Albuquerque, NM at Kirtland AFB for operational test events. Some travel (<20%) to the White Sands Missile Range, NM and the Nevada National Security Site, NV may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors test bed / test article / test tunnel / test support facilities construction and submit reports to DTRA/RD-ECFC on matters related to safety and Quality Assurance (QA).
- Gathers all pertinent information on behalf of the Government while monitoring the safety and QA aspect of the construction project.
- Submits daily/weekly/monthly reports and make recommendations to address any issues concerning Safety and QA.
- Develops, applies and maintains quality requirements and standards for moderately complex development and manufacturing products.
- Interfaces with customers, vendors and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information.
- Reviews customers purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensures that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
- Evaluates and analyzes the efforts in organizing, documenting, and interpreting inspection support documents and records.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields of study and a minimum of 3 years’ experience working directly with testbed construction quality in a test and evaluation (T&E) environment is desired.
- A High School degree and at least 10 years’ related experience is acceptable as an alternative.
- Required Training/Certifications (must already have):
OSHA 30 hour certification or EM-385 40 hour certification
US Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Control Management for Contractors certification:
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in quality construction engineering.
- Strong orientation and a proven track record in the use of statistical techniques to characterize, prioritize, monitor and improve performance.
- Effective organization level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- MS Office proficiency and ability to work in an individual and team environment.
- Experience in constructing testbeds for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and/or High Explosives test events desired.
- US Citizenship is required: Active/current Secret (S) with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
