Job Description


Monitor, analyze, and detect Cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision. Assist with integrated, dynamic Cyber defense, coordinate and maintain security toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs. Develop security assessment plans for systems, including the objectives, scope, schedule, required documentation, possible risks, and other logistical items for security assessments; develops cloud service provider testing approach from security perspective.
Provides validation of security control tests for cloud service provides; coordinating access to systems and approvals for scanning activities.
Conducts ad hoc testing on an as-needed basis to assist with development activities or vulnerability remediation.
Reviews/tests system security controls (managerial, operational, and technical) to determine adequacy against federal requirements (e.g., NIST SP 800-53) and mission context.
Documents plans of action and milestones for corrective action following assessment activities and in response to identified vulnerabilities.
Drafts security policies and procedures including the system security plan, and agency specific policies in accordance with NIST requirement. Routinely conducts risk assessments to quantify impacts of vulnerabilities.


Some College and 8 years experience in Cyber Analysis. BS degree highly desired in Systems Analysis, Cyber Assurance working in a DOD environment.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience

Minimum of 3+ years of security experience (experience and understanding of all security domains).

Minimum of 5 years of IT experience (server/desktop hardware & software, networking,

storage, disaster recovery, and backup/restore).

Minimum of 3+ years of cloud security and IT experience (AWS preferred).

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of the government environment relating to technical, scientific and analytical services.

Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to identify and document business, program, and application requirements, and technical specifications from artifacts.

Demonstrated ability to decompose requirements and existing systems into documentation.

Demonstrated ability to design, write, and edit process documentation as well as technical documentation for software products, features and platforms.

Demonstrated command of engineering of principles, methods, and techniques in data security and system development.

Advanced knowledge of secure operating systems as well as data security.

Effective customer and organizational level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
