POSTION SUMMARY:

This position is for a project supporting the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), specifically Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Strategic Materials. The project is focused on recycling nickel superalloys.  The project includes demilitarizing parts no longer needed by DoD and filling out/processing the documentation required for demilitarization.

The Demilitarization (DEMIL) Technician acts as a skilled specialist in accordance with applicable policies and non-routine procedures to complete complex tasks in creative and effective ways.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under the direction of a DLA Strategic Materials government representative the team member executes tasks included but not limited to observing demilitarization of excess to requirements or end of life parts, accounting for and inventorying parts, and compiling and maintaining required demilitarization paperwork.
• Primary Tasks Include: Observing and verifying DEMIL of excess to requirements parts, records management, and inventory management.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma (minimum, with preference on a bachelor’s degree) and ten (10) years of demonstrated experience with X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) equipment, metal scrap industry, records management, and industrial transportation.  Additionally, two (2) plus years of supervisory experience is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Microsoft Office Proficient

Applicant is expected to complete required training to become DEMIL certified.

Security clearance not applicable but U.S. Citizenship is required.
