Job Description

Alion is looking for a Director – IT PMO and Knowledge Management.  The Director will be a direct report to the Chief Information Officer.  The Director will be responsible for IT Program Management efforts including the delivery of complex distributed product portfolios and IT transformation projects.  The role will also have operational and development support of the corporate SharePoint infrastructure(s) including Microsoft Teams.  

Candidate will manage team supporting the development of both internal and external Knowledge Management Solutions.

Deliveries will include key corporate sites as well as sites used by external customers.

Working closely with the business to help define the overall requirements and timeline, the Director will ensure delivery, communication and overall quality and satisfaction of corporate IT projects.

Representing the Corporate Information Technology department, the candidate will coordinate with business and technology teams to define requirements and business cases for system deliveries as well as evaluating technical solutions, operational impacts and user impacts for changes.

As projects progress candidate will be responsible for tracking deliverables and budget progress.

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related field required. Masters preferred.

Minimum of 10 years in Information Technology including leadership roles. Employment history should demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience directing staff of highly skilled IT professionals and ensuring all team members work synergistically with the entire IT organization.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute certification is preferred. Possess a thorough understanding of program/project management methodologies.

Ability to negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and service providers in the information technology business

Experience with software engineering concepts, procedures and methodologies.

Possess knowledge of operating systems and hardware and the ability to evaluate in regard to supporting the corporate software strategy.

Analytical and problem solving skills to define complex business solutions.

Track record of delivering complex, large-scale projects.

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with all levels of staff.

Travel up to 15%

The candidate must have excellent communication skills, people management experience and project/program management experience.
